The competition has categories for Primary and Post-Primary students with a €1,000 prize for each category and the overall winner having the song published and released by Disney Music Group. All finalists will perform at the National Concert Hall.

Song for '16 will enable students engage with contemporary culture through a historical perspective, and to produce a hit song for modern Ireland that celebrates what the island has become over the last 100 years.
